Book I recommend

Hello everyone, thank you for visiting my blog.

Today, I would like to sammary and my feeling about a book called "THE TRUE HISTORY OF CHOCOLATE” that I had recommended in this blog.

The book has nine chapters. It explained the origin of chocolate in the chapter 1,2 and 3: how to grow cacao tree, how to enjoy chocolate ancient people and what walth the time cacao had. I was interested in the use and the importance of cacao as both drink and coinage among the ancient people, and the ritual significance of the beverage as a symbol of human blood.
In the chapter 4 and 5, he shows new era in which chocolate was transformed and creolized by the Spanish conquerors since 1521. I learned food sometimes needs to face the obstacle of religion and medicine. It described people argued getting chocolate during fast was ok or not. As I don't believe in any religion eagerly, I think it better for many kind of people to be able to eat other culture food. So food has changed the way to cook and the ingredients.

In addition, I was interested in the rule of chocalate as medicine. At same time,I found some doctors and exparts suspected eating chocolate damaged human body. Now many abult and children like eating. However there were thought that chocolate hurts human health long time ago. I was suprized this idea because I eaten chocolate and got enagy from it when I studied hard for entrance exam. I looked at potcast taking about the effect of eating chocolate.  The chapter 6 expalined the producers who were responsible for the cacao and chocolate transferred from American to African and colonies controlled by England, Holland and Frence. In the chapter 7, 8 and 9, we know chocolate's modern history. the big development happend that chocolate which had been a beverage of the elite became a snach for the masses. I learned mass production techniques increases the chance that people eat chocolate. From this book, I knew food is related with many aspects like the power balance of cuntries, religion, production techniques and so on. This book explained the history of chocolate in detail with some pictures. Although there are many terms to explain the story, you will learn new things of chocolate by reading this book. I recommend you read "The true history of chocolate".
